The art of turn by turn

Foundation memorandum on responsibility during system action.

Responsibility does not begin after a system has acted. It must be considered during the interaction, when a turn is generated, changed, redirected or stopped.

Action is situated

An isolated model does not exhaust the meaning of an interaction. The relevant question is how a response enters a particular context, which authority applies and what can still be reviewed after the fact.

A turn is a unit of responsibility

Turn-by-turn work asks what should be visible before and after an action: declared constraints, possible intervention and a bounded account of what happened.

This memorandum frames a research direction. It does not claim a completed operational standard or external validation.
